Happy 8 Months Nathan!

What a month this has been. We celebrated your first Halloween and you were the cutest penguin there ever was.

You have also figured out that there is a sticker on your shirt!

Height and Weight: I am not sure on this one because we have not been to the drs recently. Knock on wood.

Sleep: This month you overall slept well at night but would fight your naps quite a bit during the day. You are still about 2 naps a day and getting your bath between 6:30 and 7 at night followed by a 7oz bottle.

Food: You are doing great with your purees and you are eating your puffs like a champ! We are also still going strong with nursing. Hoping to keep that going until you are 1.

Milestones: You are rolling around every where and we really think you will be started to crawl in no time.

This month you started at a new daycare and we couldn't be happier. You seem to be doing well and the best part is it is right in our neighborhood!

We took a trip to the Topsfield Fair which was fun but crowded. And you also went out for your first night of trick or treating! We also went to see your Grandpa's work and the halloween festival that they put on! It was amazing!

Cutest family of penguins!

We also took our fall photos. You were not really into smiling but they still came out great.

Happy 7 Months Nathan!

I feel like every month I think the same thing, but how are you 7 months old? As each month passes by I fall more and more in love with you and your personality. You have really started to become a mama's boy and I love it!

Stats: I have no idea how much you weigh or how tall you are but I think every morning when I get you out of your crib you are heavier.

Sleeping: We had to transition you out of the sleep suit this month. I woke up one night around 2:30 and saw you sleeping on your belly so we switched you over to just wearing a sleep sack and I think you like that way more. You are on your side or your belly at all times now and very rarely on your back. You go to bed like a champ every night with no problems. We give you your bath between 6:30 and 7 and you still take a 7oz bottle every night then its lights out.

Diet: Still breastfeeding and taking pumped bottles when we are apart. You are doing really well with baby food. I make ALMOST all of it and you really haven't had anything you hate yet besides when I tried to give you some chicken, that has been the only time that you actually gagged. You have had pumpkin, squash, green beans, carrots, pears, peaches, mango just to name a few!

When we started transitioning you over to solids you went almost a whole week without pooping. The dr recommended we try to give you pear juice in a bottle and that made you vomit everywhere so onto prunes! That had you going within the hour. Now you are about a once a day or once every other day kind of guy.

You are sitting up more on your own although you still take a good topple now and then. You are also very into toys! I have been trying to stock up on some new ones for you!

This month we took a trip to Portland to visit Daddy for a night. It was a very interesting night. Daddy was sick and coughing which kept waking you up and you were unsure of how to put yourself back to sleep in a hotel crib so it made for a bit of a cranky baby the following day but we still had a fun time!

Happy 6 Months Nathan!!

How have 6 months passed since you were born? You have changed and blossomed every day and I love the little man that you are becoming. You have such a cute and silly personality and love to make us laugh. People are constantly telling us how cute you are and we can't agree with them more!

Weight: At your 6 month check up you were 16 pounds 1 ounce!

Height: 26.75 inches

Sleep: This month you did pretty well in the sleep department. Sleeping mostly 7:30-4:30 or 5 you eat and then going back to sleep until about 7:30 unless its a daycare day then daddy usually has you up and out of the house around 7:30. Your naps still range anywhere from 45 mins to 2 hours. We always enjoy the 2 hour naps the most!

Routine: Still keeping up the same routine. We have started talking you for walks around 6 which helps with cranky time. You LOVE being outside still and looking at the trees so you always enjoy a walk.

Diet: It was a big month this month! You got to try food on our anniversary August 22! Your first food was sweet potatoes and it was a success! Since then you have tried a variety of different foods all being made by me, some you like better than others and sweet potatoes and pears seem to be your favorites so far. Other than that still just breast milk.

Milestones: You spent a whole 2 nights with Nanny and Grampy while mommy and daddy went up to Vermont for our anniversary. They said you did great but were exhausted!

We also spent an afternoon at Smolak Farms checking out all the animals! Here you are with your best bud MJ rocking the double stroller!

You also took your first trip up to Camp! We put just your feet in the water since it was a cool day and you kicked them around like crazy. Soon after that we brought you to a pool and you loved being in the water. I am hoping you still enjoy this because I am going to sign you up for swim lessons this fall.

Lastly you took you first ride in a shopping cart at Market Basket. I think you were very amazed at everything there is to see in a grocery store.

I have also decided not to return to work on Thursdays. I love having an extra day with you and look forward to our time together.

Happy 5 Months Nathan!

Where does the time go? Here we are 5 months later!

Weight: we are unsure until you 6 month check up but you are definitely at least 15 pounds

Height: We will know next month

Health: You had a pretty healthy month knock on wood!

Sleep: You were doing SO well at sleeping through the night, then right before the end of the month, the 4 month sleep regression hit. I was hoping maybe this was going to miss us but it lasted just over a week. A couple nights were rough and you were waking up every 2 hours. I tried to let you cry it out and you would put yourself back to sleep but just to wake up a couple hours later. A few times I had to go in during the middle of the night for you to nurse. Luckily it didn't last and you went back to sleeping until about 5-5:30 before needing to eat again. You will still sometimes fuss in your sleep but will almost always put yourself back to sleep. You tend to be starving though first thing in the morning so if mama is already getting ready for work by the time you get up Daddy will give you at least a 7oz bottle. You are mostly in your crib all the time. If you fall asleep in the car and are still needing to nap I will sometimes just put you in your swing so you keep sleeping.

Routine: Your bath time is no later than 7pm and sometimes even 6:45 if you are struggling. Napping is still tough you will take any where from 30 minute to a 2 hour nap with the average usually being about an hour. During your sleep regression you had a tough time napping in your crib without crying hysterically but that passed.

Diet: 100% breast milk still. This will be our last month before starting you on some food!

Baby Gear: you are more and more into toys which is fun and you also don't mind being on your tummy! Sometimes you will just roll over but you can hold your head up so well that you just lay there and play. We also attached a travel seat to our counter and you like to sit with us while we eat dinner. The jumperoo is still a favorite and keeps you very entertained.

Crying: still the same, hungry, bored, tired

Milestones: this months biggest milestone was hearing you giggle. O.M.G I could listen to that sweet sound all day long. You love giggling at me and your daddy when we tickle you or make funny noises. I am sure we look a little ridiculous sometimes but it is totally worth it

Another milestone this month was you first overnight trip to Nanny and Grampy's house! You slept through the night for them so I am sure they will be happy to have you again.

You went on your first trip to a hotel this month! I was so nervous about taking you away and having you sleep in your pack and play for the first time but you did awesome! You came up to Waterville with me and Stef and you absolutely loved it. You love being outside and looking at everything. We went on lots of walks and although I had to pack A LOT it was totally worth it and I am so glade we made the trip

You have only been having to go to your daycare once a week this summer since your Auntie Allie has been watching you on Wednesdays which has been great!

You also love to slam your legs down. You even do it all throughout the night in your sleep its the funniest thing.

I am not sure how 5 months have already gone by but you continue to amaze me everyday. xoxo

Happy 4 Months Nathan!

Nathan you are now 4 months old!

Weight: 14 pounds 6.5 ounces

Height: 25 3/4 inches

Health: Well you ended up sick this month officially with a cold and a slight fever. Luckily your daddy stayed home with you and took you to the doctors. It took a while for you to get over it but you have been good ever since!

Sleep: I don't want to jinx ourselves but you have been sleeping really well and in your crib!! We started you in your crib swaddled and you were doing ok waking up about twice a night but going right back to sleep. When you got sick the doctor told us to have you sleep at an incline so back in your swing you went for 2 nights. Well then we went through the crib transition ALL OVER AGAIN. Luckily it only took a couple nights. About mid month we switched you over to the Merlin Magic sleep suit. I am happy to say that for about the past week you have been sleeping from about 7:45 to 5-6 and then back down til anywhere between 7 and 8:30. You did seem to wake up sometime between 1 and 3 and fuss around in your crib a bit but you always put yourself back to sleep which saves mom and dad a trip in your room and you are doing fine not eating til morning! It has been fantastic!

Routine: We pushed up bath time and usually go in by 7-7:15 and you seem to like being in bed earlier. Especially on your daycare days you are absolutely exhausted. Your daycare routine will be changing soon since it was your last day with Ms. Liza and we will miss her dearly! She was so good to you and we are hoping your new daycare will be just as good!

Diet: Still 100% of good ole mama's milk and I am in no hurry to start you on any type of food. I think we will hold off until 6 months as long as your still gaining weight.

Clothes: Mostly 3-6 months. Some of your summer rompers are 6 months but shorts are mostly 3 months.

Baby Gear: Still love looking at and reaching for your toys especially in your gym. You also love holding onto your toys in your car seat. The car is touch and go with you. Sometimes you are perfectly content and other times you will scream bloody murder making for a horrible car ride! Still loving the bath tub! I had also put you in your big part of the stroller which you seemed to enjoy. Still hating tummy though :( We have started using your Jumper which you are very curious about.

Crying: Same things, tired, hungry or if you get bored with something

Social: This month you enjoyed spending time with the kids at daycare and also had a few playdates. We also celebrated your Nanny and Grampy's 40th wedding anniversary and had our last dinner at your great grand parents house! We also celebrated Daddy's first Father's Day! We ventured out to make him some pottery with your foot prints. Boy was that an adventure!

You get more fun everyday and we love watching you grow and change!

Happy 3 Months Nathan

Nathan you are now 3 months old as of June 1! Time is flying and it is taking mommy forever to write up your stats!

Weight: At least 12 pounds by now

Height: Not sure we should know in July

Health: You started daycare and right away you have been congested and coughing. Hope this is not a sign!

Sleep: Oh the sleep subject again. We moved your swing into your room this month and have been focusing on trying to have you teach yourself how to sleep. We let you cry for about 5 minutes at a time before we go in and soothe you. By the end of the month you were putting yourself to sleep and only waking up once a night to eat. You seem to wake up around 3-4am and just start getting a little fussy. If I put the swing on you are out like a light and sleep until 8. I am hoping to phase out of this and then start working on crib transitioning. We are still turning the swing on for naps.

Routine: You are still following the same pattern of sleeping, eating and playing except for bedtime when daddy gives you a bottle before we put your down. This sometimes can get difficult when we try and go out and you start getting fussy for nap time and sometimes you just can't be comforted without that swing!

Diet: 100% Breast milk still!! And at 11 weeks we were done with the nipple shield!! It just kind of happened one day. I kept always trying but you just hadn't been ready. I am so glad to be done with that thing. It makes nursing so much easier especially when we are on the go.

Clothes: 3 months and starting some 3-6 months.

Baby Gear: You have really been starting to get into toys this month. At 11 weeks we were out at our favorite place Target and it was the first time I saw you actually start reaching for a toy hanging from your car seat, and you were just rubbing it. So cute! You are loving your jungle gym and looking at yourself in the mirror. I would say your tub this month too. You love just laying there like a king while we bath you and sing lots of songs.

Crying: Mostly when you start getting tired or bored. You will cry to let me know you have had enough and are ready for something different.

Likes: Eating for sure! You also like to look at other babies and at yourself in the mirror. You are liking when we sing to you and always give us big smiles that melt my heart.

Milestones: Starting daycare. Boy oh boy was this tough on mommy. Luckily daddy does most of the drop offs but the bigger kids love to help out with you and you are always exhausted by the end of the day.

You rolled from your tummy to your back on May 21! You really hate tummy time.
We celebrated our first Mother's day together and you joined in on the seafood tradition!

Social: You got to hang out with all the babies born from daddy's co-workers! You are also getting to hang out with all the kids at daycare!

Nathan you continue to let your little personally show more and more everyday. We love you so much.
